Disappointing Products (Singular) #2

Hey Ladies,

It isn't all sunshine and roses around here and as a blogger I try out so many products. Quite often I find a dud in the mix. I think it's important to share disappointing products especially when they are from a luxury brand!

This time round we are going to be discussion MAC Liquid Eye Liner in Boot Black. Right from the get go I didn't like this product, the packaging for me is just so blah and it is quite small for the €21 price tag. I think with a liquid eye liner the applicator is the deal breaker, considering it is so hard to get the perfect smooth line the applicator should be easy to use and manageable for whatever your skill level with makeup. The applicator on this particular eyeliner is a stiff short pointed sponge that is really difficult to move over the eye and as it is quite stubby it's hard to get into the inner corner of your eye and create a thin liner.
The eyeliner itself is very liquidy and when you put it on your eyelid it can run and spread like watercolour. If you manage to complete a decent liner and want to go back in to make it darker, simply don't. It pulls on the liner you have already done and basically removes it. If you follow me on Snapchat you would have seen me use it in one of my Snaptorials and how it ruined my makeup that day. MAC claim it to be smudge resistant, I think not.

I will be bringing this Back2MAC as one of my items as I really don't think it is worth the hassle for me. I would rather stick to my KatVonD Tattoo Liner or Inglot 77! I hope you enjoyed this post and found it useful. Do you have any disappointing products that you have tried recently? If so, let me know in the comments below.

How To: 50's/ Vintage Inspired Make Up

Hey Ladies,
Today I have another "how to" for you, this time round we are taking it back a couple of years to the 1950's when eyeliner and red lippie were all the rage! Lately, there has been alot of vintage clothes and accessories floating about the shops and in the press. But, to pull off the clothes you need to have the look!

Let's begin....

Start off by applying a primer or a paint pot to prevent the eye shadows from creasing and give them more longevity. I used MAC "Painterly" paint pot. Apply from the lashes up to the brow bone.
Next apply a matte white eye shadow all over the lid and up to the brow bone.
Apply a light tone brown to the moving lid using a flat brush, I used MAC "Cork". Then using a blending brush bring it up into the crease. Taking a clean fluffy brush blend out any harsh edges that are visible.
Then taking a darker tone brown such as "Brown Down" from MAC, apply with the same blending brush to the outer corner and the crease to give the eye definition.
Using a clean mascara wand or a spooly comb out your eyebrows in the direction of growth to create the shape in which you want to fill.

Taking "Brown Down" and "Carbon" from MAC together on an angled brush fill in you eyebrows. Begin by drawing a line on the underside of the brow to give it structure. Then following the natural shape fill in any spare areas and create length to the end if you have to.

The next step is to take a pencil brush and "Brown Down" once again and smudge along the lower lash line, paying special attention to the outer corners.

Set the brows using a clear mascara or wax.
Highlighting is a very important part of this look, we use highlighting to give us that high arched brow and "always in the spotlight" effect. Taking a clean fluffy brush and "Phloof!" from MAC, dust it under the arch of the brow and in the inner corner of the eye.

Now for the eye liner... the tricky bit for most. Taking your brush of choice, I use a small paint brush, load it up with gel eye liner.
Start off by making a small line from the corner of your upper lash line, in the direction of your brow.
Then draw that line back on itself and inwards, this creates the flick.
Simply fill in the line by drawing towards the inner corner, making the line smaller as you go.

Slap on a bit of mascara to the upper and lower lash lines, pulling them in the direction of the flick gives them a more cat eye effect. The eyes are done!

Now focusing on the red lips, the signature of the 1950's. Begin by drawing the outline of your lips with a red lip liner.

Then using a brush, I like to use an angled one to get a most crisp line, begin applying your red lipstick. I chose "Russian Red" by MAC

Clean up the edges of the lips with a concealer to give a super sharp line.

And your done, here is the completed look!

I hope you enjoyed and find this useful!

Green With Envy

Hey Ladies,
Since it is Summer there is nothing like injecting a bit of colour into our everyday makeup routine, one of my favourites is MAC "Green Envy" which is a limited edition gel eye liner. It is very subtle and is barely noticeable until someone gets up close and personal. Simply whack on your everyday face, applying an eye primer and a natural shadow with some subtle shading in the crease. Then, add a slick line of gel eye liner finishing off in a feline flick.

MAC "Green Envy" as I said was limited edition but cost under €18 just incase your wondering.

Hope you enjoyed!

AVON Haul

Hey Ladies,
Recently one of my friends became an Avon Representative in my local area and like any girl would do I gave the catalogue a good reading and ordered some things. My friend held an AVON party in her home to show off the products and to encourage buyers, she asked me to come along and do some make-up looking using the AVON products.but the only problem was that I didn't own any AVON so I picked up some essentials for creating a simple smoky eye that anyone could do! After the party had ended I ordered some more products for my kit as the girls at the party had recommended them to me.

I thought I would share these products with you because the are super cheap, really great quality and widely available. Search on the AVON website to find a representative in your area and support them as this is a tough job! I will leave all of the prices below and I will also link you to the most recent catalogue so you too can have a browse.

Some of the products mentioned you may have seen some of the bigger You Tubers like the Pixiwoo girls talk about. They are always raving about the SuperShock eye liners! Naturally I just had to try them because they like them.
