My Everyday Essentials

Hey Ladies,

Today I thought I would share with you my everyday stash that I couldn't be without, a little treasure trove that lives on my desk right next to my trusty brushes. I was getting ready for work the other day and I realised that I have never shared with you the products that I use everyday without fail and have repurchased over and over. So it is safe to say they are firm favourites...this is why I haven't done a favourites video yet because all of the products would be the same every single month. I can literally bang out my work face in 10 minutes flat using these products or I could spend hours adding in other bits and bobs, they are the core products to every makeup look that I do.

A little more about my skin if your new around these parts. I have dry skin that is very prone to acne breakouts, my skin tone is very pale so I like to make my everyday face as natural as possible. And once I put my makeup on I want it to last because I hate touching up during the day - primers are an essential. The only thing I haven't included in this post is my eye shadows and brushes but don't worry I have separate posts coming up on them soon! Also please note that my lip colour is the only product that changes in and out regularly because I go through phases of different shades.

So dig into my stash...and let me know do you see any of your favourites? What are your everyday essentials? Want me to do a tutorial on my daily look?

My photo album is just flooded with pictures of makeup looks that are a bit more interesting and daring and I always think to myself I could do that so from now on every photo I take I pledge to recreate and share with you the products I used to get the look;. For now I'm just going to use photographs but eventually I want to video each look so you can see how exactly I have created it!

The first look is a picture I spotted this morning on Instagram by the lovely Tara (@juscallmetara) who created this amazing look for MakeUpForever. I was blown away at the gorgeousness of this look, she has such fantastic talent. I tried to make my look a little bit more cool toned to suit my skin but stay close to the image.

Clinique High Lengths Mascara

Hey Ladies,
So today I am testing out another mascara for you all, it's a hard job but someone has to do it! Today's offering is Clinique High Lengths mascara, if you follow the blog you may have noticed a couple of weeks ago I reviewed their High Impact mascara and it is my favourite product ever invented, ever. I absolutely love the brush, the formula and the effect so when I picked up this mascara I already had a high standard in mind.

...And boy did this mascara achieve my expectations. When I think of a good mascara the wand is always the main selling point, and the High Lengths...er... wand bit is a bit off putting at first. I have been testing this now for two weeks and it is very easy to get used to the wand, it disperses just the right amount of product and gives you long feathery lashes that are slightly thicker at the base. The formulation is also fantastic, it doesn't flake or smudge and most importantly it can hold a curl all day long so no need for re-applying!

Have a look for yourself in my before and after shots....

I hope you enjoyed that!
Love,
S

Clinique High Impact Mascara Review

Hey Ladies,
There is nothing more I love spending my hard earned money on than mascara. I am always on the search to find the perfect mascara that isn't too clumpy, gloopy or expensive. Recently I think I have really hit the nail on its head and found the perfect mascara for me!

Clinique High Impact Mascara in Brightening Black is the newest addition to my mascara wardrobe. I received this sample in my bonus time gift at the start of August and have used it almost everyday since. It is the perfect mascara at adding length (like I honestly need more length) and definition to my lashes to give me an everyday flutter lash effect. The consistency of the product is perfect, it isn't drying which means no flakes during the day on my cheeks or transfer onto my lid which is a must! The mascara is brilliant if you are like me and you're always on the go and you need something to last all day long.

The applicator is quite a large "fluffy" wand as I like to call it, perfect to give curl to the lashes and not to big so you miss out on the little ones in the corner. As this is a sample it doesn't have one of the plungers on the opening which means you get a bit more product than you normally would need. To combat this I like to swipe the wand along the rim of the tube so I get rid of any excess which prevents over use and clumping. Removing your make-up at the end of the day is also a doddle as one swipe with an oily make-up remover and its gone!

This mascara comes in black and black brown and is a steal at 19.50! This is one of the firm favourites of the Pixiwoo sisters which means it must be brilliant. This is quickly becoming my favourite mascara and I can soon see myself picking up a new one when my little sample has run out.

Until my next post!
Love,
S

Avon Super Extend Extreme Mascara Review

Hey Ladies,
Something I have been absolutely loving lately is the Avon Super Extend Extreme Mascara. I got this around 4 weeks ago from my local Avon representative at the bargain price of 6.50. It is usually 13.50 but in the catalogue it was half price, win! I have been using this for about 3 weeks and I have to say that I love it. It is quickly becoming the only mascara that I use. It is super great for separating lashes and making them look naturally lengthened. The colour is an intense black and it lasts quite well through out the day, I haven't had flakiness or smudging as of yet and the product isn't drying out considering that I am using it everyday. The want is an average size, not too big and not too small and it doesn't have grooves or bends like other wands. It is made from plastic and the bristles are perfectly spaced to get all the teeny lashes and give you that natural look!

Let's have a look what it's like on....

Before...

After...

The Product...

All in all, I think this is a fantastic product and I think I am going to have to get another one for my freelance kit!

Hope you enjoyed,
S

Green With Envy

Hey Ladies,
Since it is Summer there is nothing like injecting a bit of colour into our everyday makeup routine, one of my favourites is MAC "Green Envy" which is a limited edition gel eye liner. It is very subtle and is barely noticeable until someone gets up close and personal. Simply whack on your everyday face, applying an eye primer and a natural shadow with some subtle shading in the crease. Then, add a slick line of gel eye liner finishing off in a feline flick.

MAC "Green Envy" as I said was limited edition but cost under €18 just incase your wondering.

Hope you enjoyed!
Love,
S
