Suzie Q Reviews: NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream

Hey Ladies,

My lipstick obsession continues and to be honest it's starting to get a little bit out of hand. The latest additions to my collection are the Soft Matte Lip Creams by NYX that I picked up in New York before they became available here in Ireland. The texture of these lip products are incredible they are long lasting but I found they are more hydrating than drying and the pigmentation is second to none, no lip pencil required. Did I mention that they smell like vanilla cupcakes, added bonus. I picked up the shades Copenhagen, Prague and Istanbul. The only downside to the Soft Matte Lip Creams is that if you try to layer them they can ball up on the lips but using very little product you can easily avoid that.

Liquid lipsticks really had their moment in 2015 but I don't see them slowing down any time soon so definitely add one of these to your shopping list, there are 20 shades in the range. I have also just seen that NYX are releasing a new product called Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick that boast long lasting/waterproof lip colour with a suede finish so if you don't like the matte look this might be your guy.

   Copenhagen

 Prague

Istanbul

It's safe to say NYX have lip products covered. You can pick up the Soft Matte Lip Creams online on Boots.ie for €7.75 and you can also find the recent additions of the Liquid Suede Cream Lipsticks on there too for €9.25!

Suzie Q Reviews: Essence and Essie!

Hey Ladies,

Passing through Penney's recently and I topped by the Essence stand and boy has it been a while since I've picked anything up. And to be fair I was very good I only picked up one thing...I know how restrained was I?

My nails have been in rag order lately especially my cuticles so I picked up their Fast Cuticle Remover to see if I can nurse them back to health. For only a few bob I didn't expect much but I was presently surprised. Basically you pop it on all over your cuticles, leave it for 15 seconds and push them back with a cuticle pusher. Easy peasy! If your like me and you do your own nails this will give you the look that you have been to the salon and will make them easier to paint. Taking care of your cuticles is vital if you want your nails to grow and strengthen.

So with my nails looking the picture of health I wanted to pop on a subtle and soft polish that was a little more pastel so I chose Go Ginza by Essie. A polish that goes with everything and every time I wear it I think to myself that this would be a fab nail polish for a wedding day. It's different but won't look tacky as sin when you look back at your photographs in 20 years time. It is a pop of colour but won't take away from anything else and it suits all skin tones from pale to tanned gorgeously.

So if your a bride on a budget these two products will give you the perfect mitts for the big day!

Comes From A Land Down Under!

Hey Ladies,
A brand that I have wanted to try for quite some time now is Glamour Doll Eyes. I am not the biggest online shopper so I never worked my self up to ordering any of their products but on Facebook a couple of weeks ago the Glamour Doll Eyes company posted that a lovely lady from Australia recieved her easter order but didn't think the shadows suited her so she wanted to give them to someone who would like them. I wrote to Abbie telling her how I would love the eyeshadows, low and behold out of 27 people I was the one she chose to send them to. I couldn't believe how someone could be so kind! The eye shadows are a baby pink (April 8th) and a baby blue (Egg Hunt) which both have a gorgeous shimmer to them. The blue will go perfectly with the Inglot pallette that I bought at Christmas as the colours are so bright that the glitter will be the perfect addition. The pink is just gorgeous! Its such a soft colour that you could use it on its own or as a highlighter in the inner corner or on the cheeks mixed in with a pink blush. Glamour Doll Eyes are a very anti animal cruelty brand so all of their products are made from only minerals and some of them are vegan! These full jars cost around $6 just incase you were wondering.

These eyeshadows are gonna get great use in my collection and you never know I may even post a look using them over the next couple of days!

Thank you Abbie for being so kind!

Check out the Glamour Doll Eyes website here

Hope you enjoyed and have a fantastic weekend!

Effie Trinket Nails

"May the odds be ever in your favour!"

Hey Ladies,
If you follow me on Instagram you may have seen my recreated Effie Trinket nails that I posted last night. I am a huge Hunger Games fan and when I went to see the film I was so mesmerised by the nail designs of Effie Trinket.

The nail look I am going to do today is the pink glitter nails seen at the start of the film during the reaping. This is a super easy nail look to do and only takes around a half and hour.

What do we need?

For this look you will need a pink polish, a glitter, a cosmetic sponge and a top coat. I used the Glo Baby Glo polish from Penney's, a glitter nail polish from H&M and Seche Vite top coat. I also used a cosmetic sponge, this one is just the standard one you get with a face powder.

 How to do it?

Begin by applying the pink polish to all of your nails, making sure that the colour is very opaque. Wait for it to dry completely before moving on to the next step. Then taking your sponge, apply a small amount to a corner and begin to pounce the colour up the nail. Apply the glitter to 3/4's of your nail leaving enough space at the top for the pink to be seen. Then repeat the same step once again but only applying the glitter to 1/2 of the nail. Then finally repeat the same step once more to the very tip of the nail to make it completely glittered. Simple huh?

Then waiting until your polish is dry, apply your favourite top coat to seal in your design.

 Happy Hunger Games!
Love,
S

Dainty Doll by Nicola Roberts

Hey Ladies,
On Twitter two weeks ago, I entered a give-away competition for a prize from the company Dainty Doll which is run by the beautifully pale Nicola Roberts of Girls Aloud fame. Dainty Doll for those of you that don't know is aimed towards women who have very pale skin and find it hard to match foundations etc. to their skin colour.  I won one and last week they sent me a parcel containing a lovely lipstick. The outer packaging of this is lovely but I do wish the actual tube itself would have more detail.

The colour of this lipstick is 004 and it is a very sheer pink. This is perfect for anyone who doesn't like a lot of colour or heaviness in their lipstick as it is very light. But, you can build this lipstick so it can be much stronger. I checked on the Dainty Doll website and this lippie costs around 12pound.

Follow @ Dainty on Twitter as they run these competitions quite often.

Hope you enjoyed.
Love,
S
